Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to the website of Weingut Römmert – Hotel Volkach, including the online booking offered on it.

The service

This website provides information about the hotel and its offers and allows you to book and pay for a room. The process is always the same: you choose your arrival and departure dates and the number of guests, see the available offers and rooms, add extras if you wish, enter your contact details and complete the booking with payment. You then receive a confirmation by email. All content and every step of the booking are available in seven languages and in a light and a dark appearance. The operator responsible for this website is named in the imprint.

Compliance status

We strive to make this website accessible in line with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG). The applicable requirements are those of EN 301 549, which refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA. The website is partially compliant with these requirements; the deviations are listed below.

What has already been implemented

  • All pages and the booking process up to the contact step can be operated using the keyboard. The focus remains visible at all times.
  • Every control carries a meaningful name for screen readers — including those that show only an icon.
  • The interface colours meet the required contrast ratios. The website is available in a light and a dark appearance.
  • A skip link at the top of each page leads directly to the main content, bypassing the navigation.
  • Moving content and animations are stopped as soon as “reduce motion” is set in the operating system.
  • Forms name every field, mark required entries and report errors as text rather than by colour alone.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not yet fully accessible, for the reasons given:

  • Embedded third-party content — such as map services and the payment form — follows the accessibility level of the respective provider and is outside our control.
  • In the booking process, some explanations of blocked travel dates are currently available in German only.
  • Some older images have no alternative text or only a brief one. We are adding these on an ongoing basis.
  • Documents offered for download (PDF) are not yet consistently prepared in an accessible form.
  • Rendering at high zoom levels and with altered text and line spacing has not yet been systematically tested.
  • The payment step, including the embedded payment field, and the confirmation page have not yet been tested with the keyboard.
  • Where headings sit on top of a photo, the contrast depends on the individual image and has not been checked throughout.
  • Background videos run without their own control for pausing. They stop when “reduce motion” is set in the operating system; without that setting they cannot currently be paused.

How this statement was prepared

This statement was prepared on September 1, 2026. It is based on a self-assessment: a structured review of the source code, an automated evaluation of the accessibility tree across all page types, and manual keyboard testing. No third-party audit has been carried out.
